The Pros:

This 1973 Fiat 124 Spider is finished in a rare color (Coral – color code 180) and I believe it is the original paint, in really good shape. The trunk is all original to include the panels and rubber mat. All in great shape It has the desirable 1608 engine, a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four, with a slightly longer 80 mm stroke and a significantly lighter crankshaft making it a square engine that likes to rev, It is paired with a five-speed manual transmission

It comes with a like new Pininfarina hardtop (#32721) with the fasteners and new seals ready to install. The top alone is worth +/- $1500 (if you can find one) .

Has the early year chrome bumpers in good shape.

I bought with the intention of restoring but my other 3 Spiders have taken priority (and garage space). My wife says one has to go.

The Cons:

The engine is not currently running. When I bought it at a small car lot in Alabama the engine did turn over. Other than that, I and they have no history on the car. I would treat it as a long time sitter and take the appropriate steps.

The regular vinyl top window is serviceable but the window is out and would need to be replaced. The interior is clean but the seats are splitting at the seams and would need to be recovered. There are cracks in the dash. There is rust through in the floor pans and they would need repair or replacement.

So what you’re getting is a very original, desirable 73 Spider (early chrome bumpers, 1608 engine, original rare paint color in good shape, Pininfarina hard top) but it will take a little work to make it great again.
